Meet Mel

Mel is our Client Service Representative and aims to provide a smooth and pleasant experience for all our clients. She is passionate about making financial planning approachable and financial literacy accessible for individuals and families from all backgrounds, regardless of their current situation or future plans.

She previously worked in the nonprofit space in marketing and events and banking in branch operations. As the Director of Marketing and Events for the Austin Young Chamber, she helped plan and produce over fifty programs and events a year centered around entrepreneurship, leadership development, community and civic engagement, and networking. She also developed the strategy and executed marketing plans across social media, email, paid advertising, media outlets, and community partners. As a bank Operations Services Supervisor, she maintained lead generation for the entire branch, managed sales and service representatives while overseeing daily operations including compliance, security, teller transactions, and customer service. Mel has over a decade of experience with managing multiple projects, events, and volunteers at any given time.

Mel moved to Austin in 2014 to escape the Midwest winters. Originally from Northwest Indiana, she graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Computer Graphics Technology and web development and design.

In her spare time, Mel serves as a Math Classroom Coach for Austin Partners in Education. She previously served on the Marketing and Communications Committee for the Downtown Austin Alliance and as a member of the American Marketing Association and ILEA Austin. Mel is a graduate of Leadership Austin’s Emerge Program and participated in I Live Here I Give Here’s Board Training Program.

She also enjoys reading, drawing, painting, playing & watching sports, and taking in the Austin music & food scenes.
